Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Parts Business Manager to oversee the parts division of Olympic Sales International. Reporting directly to Chief Operating Officer, the Parts Business Manager will be responsible for leading the growth, profitability, and day-to-day operations of the parts department, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and efficient management of inventory. This role requires an exceptional leader to inspire and manage a high-performance team, optimizing parts sales, forecasting inventory needs, and developing strategies to support the company’s overall business goals.

 

Responsibilities:

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this role. The tasks and time spent performing each task may vary as business needs require. Olympic International maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion.  The range of specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Strategic Leadership & Team Management:

  • Develop the annual business plans, set and execute strategic goals to drive revenue growth and profitability within the parts division.
  • Oversee all aspects of parts business operations, including sales, inventory management, vendor relations, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align parts department strategies with company objectives.
  • Engage with Olympic International Service and Sales business units to understand the needs and develop collaboration strategies.
  • Recruit, lead, manage, and develop the parts department team to achieve business objectives.
  • Be an exceptional listener, foster an inspiring team-work environment; assist team members in problem solving.

Sales Growth & Profitability:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets for HVAC parts and components.
  • Monitor and analyze parts sales performance, identifying opportunities to drive growth and profitability.
  • Work with the sales team and inside sales to develop and execute promotions, pricing strategies, and product offers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, including HVAC contractors, service technicians, and other clients, to drive repeat business and customer loyalty.

Warehouse, Inventory & Vendor Management:

  • Oversee warehousing and inventory management to ensure the availability of high-demand HVAC parts while preventing overstocking and understocking.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the timely procurement of quality parts.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and purchase agreements with suppliers to maximize profitability and cost-efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and replenishment of stock based on customer demand and sales trends.
  • Set high standards for safety, ensuring that all safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure parts ordering, receiving, storage, and sales.
  • Optimize warehouse space and inventory layout for maximum efficiency and ease of access.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, timely deliveries, and accurate product information.
  • Lead the efforts to improve customer experience and increase satisfaction through ensuring swift and satisfactory resolution of issues, and engagement with clients.

Financial Oversight & Reporting:

  • Manage the parts department budget, ensuring that expenses are controlled, and financial targets are met. Ensure inventory levels, and other key metrics are maintained.
  • Monitor the parts business financial health and suggest corrective actions as needed to maintain profitability.

Marketing & Product Knowledge:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute promotional campaigns that increase parts sales.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and new product offers, ensuring the company’s parts inventory is competitive and in-demand.
  • Mentor the sales team to educate customers about new products and solutions that may improve their HVAC systems or services.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Competencies:

Required
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, negotiation, and people skills.
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and profitability in a competitive market.
  • Knowledge of HVAC parts, tools, equipment, and systems.
  • Warehousing and inventory management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central an asset.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and sales targets.
  • Ability to lift and move HVAC parts and work in a warehouse setting when necessary.

Educational Requirements:

Education, Licenses and/or Certification, Experience Required
  • 7+ years of experience in parts management, business operations, or sales within the HVAC or related industry.
  • Degree, diploma or equivalent education / experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; HVAC certifications or technical knowledge is highly desired.
