Projects BCIT Aerospace

British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Aerospace is a 305,000 square feet training facility that includes a 40,000 square foot hangar. This state of the art facility is designed to enhance the learning environment for students in the aerospace industry. Olympic partnered with MCW Consulting and Division 15 to apply a geothermal heat pump design, providing Waterfurnace water to water heat pumps to act as the primary heating and cooling system for the campus. The mechanical system also utilizes the hanger slab as the radiant heat source with McQuay air handlers that provide the air to air heat recovery system for the classrooms. BCIT, MCW, and Division 15 were the recipients of the prestigious 2009 Vancouver Regional Construction Association Award of Excellence.
